Want to Kill the Sale? Be Boring.

Here’s a neat video where Terri Sjodin explains some of the basics of how people judge you when you’re giving a sales pitch. And, not surprisingly, the first deadly sin is to be boring.

I might note that this sin applies to telephone calls even more because, on the phone, being a sharp dresser doesn’t give you any momentum, and you’ve only got word choice and tonality to make yourself interesting.
